Many times, students with dyscalculia (and other types of neurodivergence) don't feel like they've mastered math. This happens even after they explain they answer to you! "I find this a lot, students will do the work correctly but they don't feel like they know it," says Dr. Wall. "I make sure to point out to them how well they're doing, mentioning very specific steps, computations, and topics, and encourage them to try even if they feel unsure."
